The constant threat of burnout legitimizes the importance of balance. Workers within the fields of education\, food service\, sanitation\, and so many other professions are susceptible to increased stress\, anxiety\, and depression resulting from their work loads. Work/life balance has been pushed to the forefront as a need of society as a whole. This balancing act does not have a one-size-fits all appearance\, but it is the state of equilibrium in which an individual equally prioritizes their personal demands as well as the demands of their career. Through the identification of burnout risk factors and solutions to prioritizing ones’ overall health\, individuals will be able to boost productivity without absorbing a personal toll. This presentation includes real-life situations\, participant activities\, and problem-solving methods to decrease the individual’s workload. The priority of balance is paramount over the individual priority of professional or personal success. \nObjectives \n\nDefine caregiver burnout/fatigue\nLearn the causes of caregiver burnout/fatigue\nReview the importance of work life balance\nUnderstand risk factors of burn-out\nDefine dynamic of dual-career couples (DCCs)\nLearn ways to prevent burn-out\nLearn how to encourage work-life balance for employees\n\nFacilitator: \nBria Miles\, Trained Physical Therapist Assistant\, Care Manager\, and experienced Gerontologist is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Winston-Salem University (North Carolina) where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science. In May 2022 she finished her degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant with continued aspirations to focus her passion working with the geriatric population. For the last three years\, Bria has immersed herself in the field of geriatrics within multiple capacities initially studying Gerontology at the graduate level through McDaniel College (Maryland). She most recently has been serving as a Care Manager supervisor for a senior living community. Bria’s passion for older adults is inspiring and infectious. She believes it is her obligation to represent a population that can often be overlooked through advocacy and education. Her mission is simple\, to make a difference in how older adults are viewed in society and how to help them achieve optimal independence by increasing health literacy and through support physically\, emotionally\, and economically. Bria exhibits all the characteristics needed to support the aging and underserved communities. Being considerate\, patient\, eager to learn and compassionate are all keys to success and evolution in this space. \n  \n**Special Discount ** \nThe Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation is committed to providing opportunities to individuals with paralysis. In this interactive training\, we forget the politics and break down the fundamentals of DEI. Participants will learn what DEI means\, how it can positively impact our society\, what implicit bias is and how it fits in\, and most importantly: how true DEI is more than an initiative – It’s a mindset! \nThis workshop educates individuals on how to open their perspectives and worldviews to accept\, appreciate\, and support diverse populations. It allows people to heal from implicit bias that can be traumatizing and reduces the amount of segregation and discrimination people experience.  The workshop will also provide an opportunity for individuals to understand their own personal bias and propensity for judgement in a way that encourages a significant reduction in stigma surrounding stereotyped groups.  \nObjectives: \n\nDevelop a basic understanding of Diversity\, Equity\, and Inclusion\nIdentify how the “DEI Mindset” can improve our society and ability to connect with others\nDefine\, recognize\, and begin to heal from Implicit Bias\nFind opportunities by busting down DEI barriers\nDiscover how to have the conversation and change the world\n\nFacilitators: \nChristopher Lunsford is someone with lived experience in the child-serving mental health system who has taken his experiences with mental illness and recovery to become and advocate and leader for youth and young adults who experience mental health challenges. Chris speaks openly about his mental illness while using video games to provide a place of support and healing through the online streaming platform Twitch since 2015 under the moniker of “Fencechild”. There\, he has fostered a community of people ranging from youth to older adults who benefit from being able to talk about their mental health\, passions\, and challenges all through their common love of gaming. Originally from Albuquerque\, New Mexico\, Chris now resides in Allentown\, Pennsylvania where he has been trained as a Certified Peer Specialist and serves as the Call For Change and Youth Care Coordinator at the Pennsylvania Mental Health Consumers’ Association. \nTristan Schnoke is a young adult who is married\, has a child\, owns pets\, and also has a mental illness. She has experienced anxiety since childhood. Tristan has also experienced many traumas throughout her life. She has learned to grow through things instead of trying to jump over them and that has helped her to become a strong advocate for other young people who struggle with mental health and traumatic experiences. As the Community Outreach & Member Services Coordinator of Youth MOVE PA\, Tristan’s goal is to make sure that young people are being included\, heard\, and understood when changes to the mental health system are being made. We have a voice and we need your help to hear it! \n**CEUs\n“Pending Approval NASW-PA Chapter will be a co-sponsor of this workshop. 1.5 CEs will be awarded for completion of this course.
